Mike Beckerman
U15 Head Coach
After several years of being a volleyball parent, Mike became a part of the Sudden Impact family when his daughter, Janet, joined Sudden Impact in 2003 as a U15 player. At the encouragement of several Sudden Impact coaches, Mike decided to really learn the sport and to become a coach himself. Mike went through the Gold Medal Squared coaching clinic at the University of Washington and immersed himself in volleyball and coaching. In the 2005-2006 season Mike joined Aaron McIntosh as an assistant on the U16’s team that qualified for Junior Olympics. In the 2006-2007 season, Mike worked with Hue Ong as an assistant on the U18’s, and for the last two seasons Mike has been the head coach of the Sudden Impact U13 Cyclone teams. Mike has also been assistant coach for The Bear Creek School Grizzlies varsity volleyball program for three years, and has been a four-season head coach at the Jim McLaughlin Volleyball Camp.
Mike and his wife June reside in Bellevue, WA, along with daughter Alicia, 5 cats, and one dog. When not coaching volleyball Mike enjoys watching daughter Janet play at Seattle University, working as a General Manager at Microsoft, playing the piano, woodworking, or going out on Lake Sammamish to work on his wakeboarding skills.
